REMEMBER WHAT WE HAVE BROKEN
REMEMBER WE ARE BROKEN

Creation groans,
straining, weeping,
as seams split where we refused the cost of care.

Christ: the weld we won't accept.
Truth fused to the Father's sacrifice,
mercy fused to the wood of the Cross.

There is no resurrection without joining.
No strength without heat.
No unity without cost.

Nothing holds
that isn't first
set on fire.
